I couldn’t attend the ACDA National Conference last week, but I was thrilled to see that there was a session on women composers. I’m on the board of the Women Composers Festival of Hartford, a tiny but fierce group of musicians, artists, and feminists working to bring affordable, high-quality performances of music by women to New England.
Our funding campaign ends in about 12 hours, and if you support the idea, I hope you’ll make a gesture of financial support. I admit I wrote the text featuring great women through the history of music, so maybe you’ll learn something about the role of women, and maybe even be inspired to follow in their footsteps!
You can watch me talk about it in my office here.
